fire drill
Today...opps, i mean yesterday i kena labeled by my college mate named Jodie who is a Jehovah Witness(JW) as a "still confused girl".
First she asked me "Why you like to talk about religion? I think you are confused. Convert from Buddhist to atheist to Christian!"
So, just because a person talks about religion so much therefore the person is still confused? Just because someone come out from their religion they are considered confused? Interesting opinion...
Apparently, i'm always touching on sensitive issues..aka religion, race, races(kaum), believes and so on.
I don't critic these topics but i just talk about it...normal conversation, open talk la..wanna understand other culture and believes. I don't insult but just exchange knowledge...
Then i kena scolding wor...Jodie is from Sarawak...apparently in Semenanjung Malaysia only got 3 races but in Sabah n Sarawak there was more 40 races, so they don't really touch or talk openly on these topics wor...
Ok, oki, next topic...
I thought I'm gonna be a background girl, neutral normal student...
aiya, today i kena elected as Floor Representative Assistant...
Meeting at 12am today and then 1.40am was the fire drill.
My job as a assistant floor rep is to be the first to be at the EMERGENCY GATHERING compound and direct my floor mates and take a head count...So, I'll be the first one saved..hehe
The floor rep pula has to make sure each n every one has gone down loh..check room, toilet, study room then when they are sure there are no one left, then only the floor rep goes down...haha, so floor rep has to deal with stubborn students especially senior and karenah floor mates..hehe. Therefore, floor rep confirm die wan la...last to come down mah. Knock door and tell people to go down...
Akiko is my floor rep ;D
In my kolej kediaman, there's 4 blocks, each blok got 4 floors, each floor got 20 rooms. each room 4 person.
I'm in Block C, level 3. So 20 rooms of 4 head per room resulting 80 minus me n floor rep therefore 78 people to direct and control.
Fire alarm rang and then blackout...
Fire drill start at 1.40 am, evacuation and waiting for stubborn people ended at 3.30am. Then a talk by Kerinchi fire fighter and the fire extinguishing session. All in all, the whole fire drill ended at 4.30am.
I wanted to be dramatic by bringing my laptop..haha, but tak sempat cause I must be down doing my Duty as a assistant floor rep ma. But i sempat lock my door la...this is the best time for stealing laptops, camera and things ma...this type of events, evacuation, blackout is the best time to pick pocket and steal.
I purposely wear short short pants...people sleeping ma..hehe. Takkan people wanna wear nice nice baju to sleep or takkan people wanna find nice baju, pakai then only go down?
Something i learned from the firefighter is,
TURN OFF LIGHT, FAN, ELECTRICAL THINGS AND OFF THE GAS BEFORE COMING OUT OF THE ROOM OR HOUSE.
The rational is to prevent short circuit and prevent fire from spreading or growing...
People usually don't die from fire but are suffocated by the smoke. Don't run and panic, be calm and walk in an orderly fashion wor...
One thing i'm wondering la, let's say we're sleeping n tak pakai bra la...when the fire alarm goes on, do we take time to find bra n pakai or we just turun or we find a jacket and cover? LoL.
by the way, I got a NEW Umbrella :) Woohoo, thank you SHENG TENG...I don't mind of how kiddish it looks...as long as it serves it's purpose la...The more kiddish it looks the less likely for it to be stolen..hehe. Thank you very much, SHENG!

roomies
i'm not sure what to post...
maybe a bit about my room mates.
Ru Shan doesn't like uncleanliness.
She can't stand the room being dirty, she can't stand me not folding my clothes.
I don't get it, i mean even though things don't disturb her like my unfolded clothes just chucked on my bed, she feels responsible to do something. She BEGS and PLEADS me to fold my clothes.
She begs me to not recycle my clothes( I re-use my clothes, takkan one time use then you send to wash?), she instructs me to wash my clothes...she's like a mom..hehe
Akiko, a bit rude sometimes and hits people...a bit like who i used to be la, brings back memory of who i was before i converted. Very social and funny and someone you can easily talk to, happy go lucky type of person. Nice and interesting person la. She's like a younger sis.
Yen Ping aka Fiona, she's ok la, She's like an elder sis. If you talk to her then she will talk a lot, But You have to take the first step la.
OK la, got assignment to finish. Ciow :)
Maybe somewhere this month I will post a pic of my room mates la.

Lucky Me
hey alls,
yesterday Shima organized a Dingoes party(Dingoes are Royal Selangor Club women rugby section)...there was a badminton competition..where i found out that i really suck at badminton..19-2 in only 5 minutes. Only 2 points...haha.Crazily lousy.
There was food and swimming too, Lucky draw where the main prize was a Nikon Coolpix camera. Side prizes were radio, hair curler, hair straightener and dvd players.
Anyone wanna guess who won the Lucky draw main prize? YEah, ME! Unbelievable, I wasn't expecting that to happen.
Oh, so now I got 2 cameras...will give one to Prince. Maybe it's a sign that i should really start to take pictures..haha.

bagdiction :)
A new discovery about myself:
i love bags..not handbags but schoolpack bags, sports bag, travelling bags...
bag addiction...
Recently i bought a few bags in less than a month...
oh, no what's going on with me? I gotta get a hold of myself. Ask someone to hold my wallet.
Yesterday was my first lesson on Functional Anatomy and Physiology...I was really lost.
Shed a few tears...so fast and too much to take in. Crazy la...I'm almost very sure that I might fail this subject. Aiyoh...
Come, faster notebook...i need you, i need to read the notes in my pen drive and i need to use the internet access to do my homework. The time to use the computer is limited to 30 minutes only if there are many students who want to use the computer.
ok ok, time to ciow...
see you next time amigoes.

camera :)
heys all. what have you been up to?
I don't like my 'Anatomy and Physiology' lecturer, he changed the time table! ;'(
Now i got night classes on Tuesdays...7.45pm-11pm...meaning, bye bye tuesday rugby practices...boohoohoo.
btw tuesday rugby prac is at 5.30pm-8pm.
I've been attending the UM CF...fridays 12.30pm at Geology faculty. Met RBS Ruth there.
Apparently everyday at 5pm-7pm the sports management students have to do sports, so our lecturer cannot have classes in the evening loh.
My elder bro Tommy gave me a camera! Yay! Now i have a camera :) BUT erm, what's the use of the camera if i don't use it right? So, i guess i gotta start snapping some pics..err, any idea on what to take pics of?
Guys coming after me..i don't know how to respond...clueless about this sort of stuffs. ATM, just act like normal.
I don't know why Prince has been very supportive and exceptionally kind and good to me...What happened to my younger bro la? Is it cause he sort of misses me? haha, perasan betul! Maybe cause he know's that i'm sort of straying away from my Redeemer?
Something changed in me..Since i entered Uni, i easily tear. I try to conceal it from public view...Why the sudden emo-ness? Cultural shock perhaps?

I'm still sort of like a lone ranger in uni...almost anti-social. Do things alone. suddenly disappear... I've changed! Is it due to ignoring my God?

report of GZ
I'm back I'm back from Guangzhou..
fun:) tiring and a few things learned.
i found out that i got airsickness...mabuk udara.. headache and feel like vomitting!
haiyo, so pathetic la.
i found out that in 15's we want to receive the kick-off but in a 7s game we want to kick-off. In a 15s game, there's more players and we want to commit and go for tackles but in a 7s game we want to avoid contact and we want the ball to stay alive.
I found out that not everyone in China can speak Cantonese. I also found out that Mandarin is the school medium there.
last year's ranking :
1.China
2.Thailand
3. Kazakhstan
4.Uzbekistan
7. HK
8.Chinese Taipei
9. Singapore
11. Laos
12. Malaysia
13. India
Philippines, Japan, Korea didn't participate in last year's tournament...They are not new teams, they just didn't take part in this competition last year.
This year, some countries didn't take part too, there's why you see some rankings not filled. If i'm not mistaken, last year there was about 16 teams.
this year's ranking
Our target and goal of improving our ranking was achieved. We are now ranked 10th in the Asian Women's 7s 2010 (previously 12th). Whether we're selected for the Asian Games remain unknown until we are informed by the organisers in due course.
Asian Women's 7s 2010 ranking:
13th Korea
12th Laos
11th India
10th Malaysia
9th Philippines
8th Uzbekistan
7th Taiwan
6th Singapore
5th Hong Kong
4th Japan
3rd Thailand
2nd Kazakhstan
1st China
here's part of the tour report. credits to coach Haflil. edited by me.
friday 23rd july 2010.
Met at LCCT at 3am. Reached Guangzhou at 9.35am. We were greeted by our liaison, a really sweet tall young girl, who thought her name was too complicated to us so she decided to give herself an English name the night before so that it would be easier for us... Melody. She proceeded to give us a 2-page essay about herself as an introduction. One of the passages of her essay reads as follows:
"Because of the culture shock, I may unpurposely say something that you think offends you... And I will try my best to avoid it from happening, and have a wonderful time getting alone with you."
The bus took us to an island called the "mega higher learning" island where 7 universities are located in it! The island was populated mostly by students. We reached one of the university hotels, checked-in, had lunch, and slept.
We were given a special room for meals with 2 huge round dining tables and were served with food like you get in a Chinese wedding dinner (around 8 courses) - 3 times a day! Simply awesome...
At 5pm we proceeded to the stadium for acclamatisation training. The stadium was almost a copy perfect of the Hong Kong stadium with super thick grass which was more comfy to sleep on than our hotel beds.
Then it was dinner and off to bed... except for the Team Manager, "Couch" and Team Doctor who waited for the last player, Tasha, to arrive from Bali.
SATURDAY 24 JULY 2010
Game face on, 8-course breakfast eaten, off to the field!
We were informed that this tournament was the trial run of the ASIAN GAMES 2010 in Guangzhou to be held in November. So we were actually using the facilities of the actual ASIAN GAMES!... and watched part of the opening/closing ceremonies. Dr. Choong had a good time taking videos of the rehearsals.
With a bit of logistical issues, we managed to settle down and get ready for our first game.
Malaysia vs Japan
We were not expecting much from this game except to serve as a warm-up game, to settle our nerves and to keep the scoreline as low as we can. Japan was a much better outfit of course and had ball possession around 90% of the time. When he had possession, we lost most of it in our lineouts and scrums. Final score 52-00. Japan won.
Malaysia vs Uzbekistan
On the management side, we thought that this game was one of our best game of the tournament in terms of how 7s should be played. The Uzbeks were of course like giants and wanted to play in close quarters. We kept the ball flowing out wide all the time, and when we saw space, we went for it. But we couldn't convert our breaks into points as they were fast enough to provide cover defence. Possession was 50-50 in this game! Our defence was up in their faces and we collected a lot of fumbles from the pressure. 34-00. Uzbekistan won.
Malaysia vs Laos (Grudge Match)
We lost to Laos twice last year in Pattaya. It was time to exact revenge. Last game of the day and the players were all fired up.Overall, everyone played really well as a TEAM in this game. Great runs, great support and great passes. 19-00. Malaysia won.
In the evening, Aki suggested that all of us grab a 2-seater bicycle and cycle around the island for an hour... which we all did... but it was more a race and almost got knocked down by cars, lorries and other bicycles... the amount of noise created by us got everyone there out of their hostels... everyone slept happy after that.
SUNDAY 25 JULY 2010
Since we were ranked the top of the bottom qualifiers, we did not have to play the play-offs games in the morning. Our first game was at 2pm. We did not know who we were going to play against until 12pm. When we were told it would be India, everyone's game face turned on immediately... as we knew we had to win this one... no matter what.
Malaysia vs India (Super Grudge Match)
Not much was spoken in the bus trip to the stadium, in the changing room and during warm-up. Everyone was super serious. A bit of history: we beat them twice in Pattaya, they beat us twice in Borneo. All 4 games had some ugly violence in them.
We kicked off to India. Our defence was up quick and smashed every India player as soon as she had the ball. Final score was 17-07. Malaysia won.
Malaysia vs Philippines (Bowl Finals)
Unbeknownst to the team, Philippines had earlier trashed Laos 40-00. This only the management knew. The players were all ready to play in the finals and were all fired up once again.
Philippines posed a bigger challenge than Laos or India. They were more structured, bigger and faster. Nonetheless, we maintained good strong pressure at kick off and Philippines was forced to play a kicking game which they outran us at times. Some lapses of concentration on our part created gaps between the our centre and winger which they exploited and scored from.Final score 22-00. Philippines won.
After the bowl finals, we watched the rest of the remaining finals, and more photo taking with the other teams of the tournament (except India). Then dinner, video session, Kangaroo Court.
MONDAY 26th JULY 2010
We hit the streets of Guangzhou. More tiring than the 2 tournament days! Flight was delayed so we took more photos of ourselves... we arrived safely back at LCCT on Tuesday 27th July 2.35am.

Flight was delayed so we took more photos of ourselves... we arrived safely back at LCCT on Tuesday 27th July 2.35am.

basic info
heys people, especially you! Yeaps i mean you, my super big fan Mellisa Wong :)
I have 3 roommates. One is Ru Shan a bio med student who is a year younger and don't talk much.
Another is Fiona aka Yen Ping who's a music student...piano and violin, she has mood swings almost everyday..haha.
Next is Akiko, she's taking computer science. Half Japanese and half Melanau, very interesting girl...almost as crazy as me..hehe.
My nick name that my room mates gave me is "Smelly Girl"...
Why? It's a very simple explanation. I am taking a degree in sports management...SPoRTs = SwEaT...and I don't really like to bath...hehe.
The subjects under my course for this semester is
1. Sejarah dan Falsafah Sukan
2. Teori² Pengurusan dan Organisasi
3. Asas Sains Eksesais
4. Fungsi Anatomi dan Fisiologi.
5. Kemahiran Maklumat.
My earliest class is at 9am and my latest class is at 10pm.
Almost every evening, there's sports activity.
The washing machine here eats money. Rm2.50...it is normal for the washing machine to be spoilt.
So, take home and wash or you hand wash everyday. Sometimes, after your clothes are washed, you got no place to hang/dry the clothes...haha, who ask you to wash your clothes on the day that everyone else also wash their clothes!
When it rains, all the clothes get wet...hahahahahahahaha.
Food is all on our own...each time makan must pay la...wah, now every sen also important. Suddenly we learn how to appreciate money :P
I thank God that we don't have to buy water..there's a water dispenser...free :)
There's a common bathroom in each level/floor, there's about 4 toilet cubicle and 8 bathrooms only. Each floor/aras/level got 20 rooms, each room 4 person so that means 80 people share 4 toilet cubicle and 8 bathrooms...haha.There's a common iron and electrical kettle..we are not allowed to bring our own iron nor kettle.

uni
Getting on9 is a bit tough...computer time is limited to office hours in Pusat Sukan. There's a Cyber cafe at only rm2 in my kolej kediaman 11...i don't use it...money very important now ma...most of my seniors said ptptn is not enough and if your parent's income is higher than rm2000, you can only get half loan or quarter loan from ptptn la.
Classes has started and assignments are given already. No more handwritten paperwork now. Everything is typed and printed so a notebook will make life easier la. Unlucky me, i don't own one yet. So, it's time to fight to use the computer at our faculty la. My faculty is called Pusat Sukan and fortunately it is just right in front of my college :)
Another place to fight for computer is the main library which is about 30 minutes away from my college.
Of cause for people who don't mind paying to use the computer, they can go straight to the Cyber cafe loh.
I like my lecturers cause the classes is not boring. but they talk too fast la...
Not many people take comprehensive notes in class, so it will be a bit tough for me if i do miss a class.
I applied to enrol into the Reserve Navy(PALAPES Laut). today was my fitness test.
there was filling up forms, something like static chin up but body placed diagonal so it was arm muscle job la( i did 4 minutes), after that was as many sit ups in 1 minutes( 53 in 60seconds), then was static long jump( i did 2.1meter only), after that was 10m run repeatedly 4times...i dono what's the time. Next was run 2.4km( i did 9.49 minutes la)
This is just the first level, next will be medical checkup, interview and many many more process before i will finally find out if i got into the reserve navy.
fyi: i always wanted to be in the army( tv influence..haha), but since my elder bro is in the army so i choose the navy.
btw, i'm selected into the women rugby 7s national team la..i'll be flying to Guangzhou on 23.7.10(fri) 5am la and returning on 27.7.10 at 12.45am.
wish me the best.
i would like to express my gratitude to all those who secretly sponsored me so that i can go to GZ, china.
Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.
i would also wanna thank those who taught me and believed in me.

she lives
hey hey people~
it almost seems like I'm back from the dead!
here's some short update...
i'm now a student at Universiti Malaya doing sports science(sports management). I'm staying in the hostel there. In UM, we called our hostel Kolej Kediaman(KK). At the moment i'm at KK 11 aka Kolej Ungku Aziz(KUAZ). There's 20 rooms a floor/level and in each room there's 4 students la.
Orientation week was crazy tiring..activity finish around 12/12.30am and activity starts at 5.30am. There was a lot of sports and not much info or tour around the uni.
Life in Uni is a bit different. will tell you about it next time.
BTW, i got into the rugby 7's national team...going for KEJOHANAN RAGBI ASIA 7'S in Guangzhao, China on 23-27th july 2010.
My recent bleep test is 8.3 :)

tiny update
heys people, still no internet access right now, even the computer in amma's house is down.
the cameraman said, it's a photo for newspaper..i don't think local newspaper though.
yeaps, that's me down on the ground.
Erm, we got 4th for the singapore league 15 rugby tournament la...quite sad la cause we lost by 2 points only...it was rsc vs src. Semi finals is called plate i think. Cup->plate->bowl...cup is final, semi final is plate and 5th n 6th place is bowl....or something like that la.
Ok, now the 15s seasons is over but it's the beginning of the 10s and 7s.
my first choice...ok la...it would be much sweeter if it was sports exercise or other physical ones la...this is management...like erm team manager loh...where to stay, what to bring, transportation and ect...MANAGEment ma. The other sports courses need a higher pointer la.
My pointer is low mah...2.85...somewhat average only. Sports management was chosen cause it mengutamakan national athletes ma. So rugby is really a big help and factor that helped me get into uni la :P

Bucks vs Dingoes!
hey hey people, what's up with you all?
erm, no Internet connection so i had not been blogging so frequently d la ;(
Go to Amma's house to use the Internet...when i have to come back late from rugby events also, i will stay over at Amma's house la.
Rugby today against Singapore Bucks team. WE lead in the first half and no scores in the second half at all...
post game party/celebration...i found out i am so stiff/kayu...cannot dance wan....haha.

Rugby today against Singapore Bucks team. WE lead in the first half and no scores in the second half at all...
I played full time as a winger...i did my winger job quite bad, mistackled more than 7 times...I also was not observant and loss a ball that Bibi passed to me ;[ , When Nora was running with the ball, i did not support her properly and so she couldn't pass the ball to me loh.
But I joined a many rugs whereby i secured or tried blowover...so, i did feel a bit productive on the field..hehe.
i did not expect to play on field for the full game...during the second half i was wondering when are the coaches going to substitute me with Tiara? I mean she's a better player than me mah and usually i get sub in the 2nd half la...haha.
Another highlight for me was that when Carmel passed the ball to me, i ran away from being caught, just duck and evade a few Bucks players and then some Bucks players caught me so i pumped my feet and still gained ground, but when a Bucks player in front of me got hold of the ball, i knew that it's no use trying to gain any more ground already cause I'm going to lose the ball, so i tried my best to hold tight to the ball and fall down, it was hard to fall down la...but i managed to do it la...quite fun accomplishing this and it is also my first time pumping successfully! Woohooo!
overall, the results is 12-17...we won.But I joined a many rugs whereby i secured or tried blowover...so, i did feel a bit productive on the field..hehe.

15th may 2010 results
ok ok, the result of my rugby game on Saturday the 15th of may 2010.
Dingoes took a bus to Singapore at 7am on Saturday.
the match was in CCAB (Co-curricular Activities Branch), 21, Evans road. Singapore 259336.
Match was Dingoes against SRC(Singapore Recreational Club). The first try was scored by SRC and then Dingoes scored a try and a conversion kick bringing the first half results to a 7-5.
In the second half, SRC seem to know our calls and read our moves and they scored 2 more tries, failing the conversions. Thus ending the game with SRC 15 and Dingoes 7.
Overall, it was ok la. Better luck next time.

Next topic...work work work.
Remember i told you all about the "Love Love issue"?
Crazy la, it is getting worse...
I get sms-es and recently i got a "I love you" message at 2am...and after that a call at 4am just to say "I love you"
I replied, I don't love you.
He replied "Faith dares everything and love bears everything"
then I ignored him and he sms the next day "please can you tell me why you don't love me?"
Another guy keep calling me Darling or Sweetheart. I said I'm not your darling or sweetheart. He replied, I still like you even though you don't like me.
I find it really strange la..how come all the guys in PappaRich are after me?
I mean if it is one or two guys, i understand la but this is all the guys, even the married ones. Seriously, i am not exaggerating...
Is there a bet or a challenge on who can couple with Hilda is it?
BTW, in Papparich, all our phone numbers are displayed...haiz.

i love rugby
recently during rugby trainings, my ankles has been giving me warnings not to overwork it...i mean work standing 6 hours then walk to mom's office and then training...so my legs quite tired..haha. I'm not tired but my legs tired...a few times this week i ALMOST sprain my ankles( means I didn't but ALMOST, got feeling) , so i asked my other fellow winger to play the active winger during trainings.
your body doesn't lie, sometimes you don't know how tired you actually are. Mentally ok but physically not that OK, and sometimes you're in denial or maybe it's just ego that makes you tell yourself that you are not tired.
yesterday during training, i tried to guard-dog but i was too high and so i got hit under my chin and upwards...the path to my ears were pain for a while and also my lips became a bit bengkak/sore.
FIY: guard-dog means you guard the attacking opponent, it'a a defense move la.
Today that part of the lips were purplish color...according to my colleagues it looked like i got into a fight or my BF abused me...haiz...
By the way i'm working as a waitress la, so looks quite important one la...luckily boss didn't see me clearly so i was not sent home...
now i'm thinking, if i get injured and bruised from tomorrow's game, should i go to work the next day?
I'm imagining the conversation with boss on the phone like this:
Boss, I want to come to work and i can come to work, but i'm afraid that you will send me back home because i might scare the customers away....haha.
haiyo, next saturday also got another rugby match la...then how? I mean i will always be in rugby as long as i am eligible la...hehe. Please don't expect me to give up rugby just because of a few bruises or injuries. it's my passion right now la.
my colleague said: this is only bengkak, if break anything then how? STOP rugby la. Please stop playing Rugby la.
I replied: If injured, wait until heal then continue with rugby la..haha.
should i stop work? i mean i already managed to get the amount of money required to sponsor a child's education for a year mah...luckily i am a part timer only, so can suka suka take leave...haha.

end april begin may
YF care groups had a CG outing for the 1st of May. each caregroup were suppose to go bonding on their own la...My cg AGAPE went to Sungai Choh, near Rawang on Friday to stayover and organize the Kids Church Family day the next day akaa SATURDAY.
On the 30th of April(Friday) after work, I met up with Beatrice and we went to my house to wait for Terence. Terence also picked up Kathryn Gan, Nic Liew, Chris Hew...We had loads of lame jokes on the car and some fellowship as well as for some word games in the car...oh ya, not to forget PIZZA! woohoo...thanks you Kathryn and her mom :)
It was quite jammed la...next day Labour day ma...so everyone also going somewhere...but anyway, it was fun.
when we reached out destination, we grilled BarBeQued...there was honey, bread n butter, chicken, pork, ribs, beef and lamb, potatoes and chiffon cake :)....eat, eat, grill, grill, talk, crap, fellowship, lame jokes. silly games...bully, and then we change and went swimming! Woohoo! so fun, funny and relaxing. Played a ball game in the pool, sat and gossip in the small pool. played in the water till 1am.
went to our chalet, bath and then go to hall for meeting/brainstorming/preparing,/plannig, assigning/creating new games/clues and all for tomorrow's treasure hunt aka Kid's church Family day. Meeting end at 3am.
went back chalet, saw the girls sleeping in air-cond room but no blanket...i was thinking, "haiya, these girls ah, sleep without blanket wan r? So i took the blanket and covered them then i went to sleep in my sleeping bag. Whenever i go to camps, i sleep in my sleeping bag because
1. I lazy to fold the blankets
2. I can't stand cold
Camp tips: always bring slippers, shorts and sleeping bag. haha.
I woke up next day at 8.30am for breakfast and last meeting aka final preparation...Parents arrived, we went to our stations... everything was fun, funny and most things went according to plan. A very big CONGRATULATIONS to CJ for arranging and organizing everything...all AGAPE had to do was to be present! :) We really appreciate all CHENG JIN's efforts.

The was a questionaire on whether you got any sports injury before or not la...all yes and no, there was a note "IF IN DOUBT, CIRCLE YES"...hahaha.
TEMUDUGA KEMASUKAN KE PROGRAM IJAZAH SARJN MUDA SAINS SUKAN, UNIVERSITI MALAYA, SEMESTER 1, SESI 2010/2011.
After that we went inside a dewan kuliah and the....
Dr. Selina Khoo Phaik LinTimbalan Pengarah (Akademik)
Pusat Sukan
She is a chinese young lady..she express her gratitude for choosing this course. Then she said"do u know what you applied for? It's Bachelor of Sports Science in bracket PENGURUSAN SUKAN, so if you are thinking of becoming a dietitian or sports specialist...I'm sorry, this is not the course for you. This is MANAGEMENT, so if you're thinking that there's going to be loads of sports, you are wrong. Management only."
I was shocked...alamak, i was too blinded by the term SPORTS SCIENCE, that I didn't see the bracket..huh? Sports science but not sports science and instead all management only? Aiyo, what if I don't like the course la? Should I quit? Haiya, no wonder la the other University had higher requirements la...totally different couse by itself! Haiz
I was doubting the whole time...should I drop it? This is not what I wanted to apply for? Aiya, i feel tricked....my fault.
Anyway, after that session, we went to the hall for a briefing how to do a blip/beep/bleep test/shuttle run...For more info on the Bleep test, click here.
UM used radio recoding instead of blowing whistle. Oh, rupanya, my coach was listening to the audio through his iphone...neways I got 2nd for girls la...level 6.6, ok la...improve from before ma...last time was Level 5.7. The other girl who got the highest was level 7.1
Rest 5 minutes then rotation of how many repititions you can do in one minute.
My first station was burpee but without jumping la exactly like this :)
2nd station was back extension...it's lie down full body down, hands under chin and push up,
3rd station was pumping aka push up
4th station was sit up.
After that was break to bath and get ready for the written test.
Written test:
-few maths question-->fraction and percentage.
-english question-->synonym and spellings, meaning of words and a "few kind-of-like-MUET reading test"....paragraph given, state yes, no or not enough information given.
-iq test-->shapes, which is in the same catergory, numbers, names, What's next?
-local sports-->SUKMA how frequent? which is not a local athlete(faizal tahir), which sports Valentino Rossi does(F1, motor GP) , which sports Daniel Bego does(Malaysian swimmer), who is the sports minister( Shabery Cheek), in which country is the next winter Olympic going to be held(i forgot paralympic or the winter olympic) Vancouver is it? i dono,
Essay question-how does sports develop a country?Give relevant examples.
whole test 40 minutes...got about 40 questions I think. After the written test, The invigilator gave tips "this interview is not to see how well you can crap but it's to see your confidence level"
after the written test, got 2 hour break for lunch.
2pm is the interview.
I followed Fatin to her dad's house...makan free...haha
Interview started at 2pm and I was candidate number 7...at 3.45pm only was my turn. I was still doubting whether i should continue the course.. Ginee said "go ahead with it first, when confirmed then only decide whether you wanna drop it"
Each room had to Interviewer. Mine was an Indian guy who came from overseas so cannot understand BM and a malay lady la..
(Personally in my heart I thank God that my interviewer was not Mr Azmazi or not I would be thinking whether I got into UM under Mr Muhammad's connection or by my own effort and qualification. Maybe after the interview and in the processing, Mr Asmazi still could influence things but at least the interview was my own influence.)
Thinking in my head, "If the indian guy cannot understand Malay so what's the use of the certificates la...since he cannot understand it...haha. If not much sports science but mainly management only then why the physical test in the first place?"
Waiting, waiting, waiting, so nervous...everyone was nervous. Different rooms got different interviewer, I was feeling nervous and sleepy...waiting so long...Like as though I was in the hospital waiting for my name to be called...haha.
Some tips I got for the peeps who went before me...
"why you want to study sports management?", "what do you understand from sports management?", "rate yourself on the area of management?", "how can sports management in mssd be improved?", what do you think about the mssd sports management?", "what's your highest achievement?", "tell us about yourself and your family", "describe yourself", "what do you understand about the ONE STUDENT ONE SPORT campaign?", and ect...
Ok, back to my turn... At 3.45pm the Indian guy opened the door and called my name, and the malay lady did most of the talking la.
First she asked me to sit and then she checked my cert on spm and stpm.
She explained that the Indian guy cannot understand BM so the interview will be in English.
She said "I have to inform you that this is sports management course, not sports science, do you want to continue with it?"
I asked whether can change to other sports science course or not? "NO, cannot!"
I asked "What is the scope or area of studies?" She said "a bit of general sports science and then Management"
I said "Oh, so got a bit of general sports science la?" She nodded her head.
I asked "what are my career options?". The guy said "Youth sports officer, manage sports team, work at Majlis Sukan Negara(MSN), work with government"
I ask "Coach can ar?", she said, "erm, management...coaches also need management...can can, so do you want to continue the interview?"
Okla...can please continue...show me your MSSMKL certificate.
What sports do you do? "Rugby"
what is your highest achievements? "Represent Malaysia for Rugby"
Rugby? Malaysia women got rugby? I never heard of it also.
How long have you been playing for the National team? "since Last year?"
How many times? "Twice, Malaysian women rugby team came to existence about last year only"
Oh, quite new, no wonder I never heard of it yet (*I smile*)
What position? "Winger"
Both as main player? "Yes(actually the first time as a utility/reserve player but my second time was as a main player)"
When is your most recent achievement? "Last Saturday, Asian 5 Nations. *shows certificate*"
MALAYSIAN RUGBY UNION? Is it the same one with the GUYS rugby also? (In my head, yala, of coz la...dah state MRU...not Ladies MRU...it says Msian kan...haiz) "Yeah"
[she was quite skeptical] Are you sure it's the same one with the GUYS RUGBY? "Yes"
How long do you plan to play rugby? "As long as I can :)"
silence a mini micro second "I used to play football for the KL women football team in 2003 also"
UM don't have girl's rugby or football. The sports you're involved in are the ones not many girls want to take part in, so maybe not much competition/saingan and easy to get a spot in the team.
(in my heart, "of coz la..not many girls play those sports so got opportunity la...muahahaha")
No doubt, you represent Malaysia and it's quite a high achievement but UM don't have rugby nor football, so what other sports can you contribute in if UM takes you in?What other sports you do?
"Any contact sports? Cause I tried netball before and really struggled because I can't do non contact sports la"...
Hmm, basketball, futsal and hockey? "yeah, I was a hockey captain in form 5"
Why didn't you continue hockey in form 6? "Well, my school didn't let me, they limit the sports that form 6 can join. Form 6 koko is very limited in my school. Form 6 not allowed to join :( "
Tell us what do you think about yourself?
"I think I am more of a decathlonist than a specific sports athlete...I may not be so good in one sports but i can play a lot of sports."
He asked why rugby? "ball shape is unique and interesting and it's one of the only sports in the world where you cannot pass forward :)"
She said so, you're adaptive, what other sports or what you're best in? What do you think is your best sports? "open runs, cross country and lompat jauh"
far jump ( far jump? hahaha...long jump la)
so athletics la. You're first choice is this(sports management), what is your second choice? "Law at UM"
Why don't you want to be a lawyer? "At first i was thinking of law, but when i found out that there's a path in sports science...WHY not? :) Let's go for it. Besides that, now the government is trying to imply the ONE STUDENT ONE SPORTS, so by the time I graduate, job secure"
You see a potential in sports management...good good. Yalor many lawyers already. Any questions? "yeah, erm, when and how will i know the results?"
This interview got no points, we will gather the results of today morning's physical test and the written test and then depends on the standard procedure la...
"so will you send mail/letter or should I check on the website?"
They were not sure...she said "depends on what is the standard procedure now la"
"I will be shifting house soon so address will change." She ask "to where?"
I said "Kuchai lama". She said it's still considered quite near.
She asked him, anything else? He said no.
Then he said i was the right one to have that lady as my interviewer because she also was a law graduate then she changed to sports science. Then he said "I am so proud to meet a lady rugby player"
Oki, thank you and I went home...
Compared to others the interview I went through was quite easy and no hard question la....haha, must be because of my qualification...
Somehow i feel like I am cheating UM...they have high hopes on my representing their Uni...cause she said "What sports can you contribute in UM if we take you in..." and she also wrote down the sports i said I could play...
I mean I am not so good ma....no competition so I auto can get loh...Like KL Football, not many girls wanted to play football so I could join...here Rugby, not many girls interested and only one club in Malaysia ma...so we automaticaly become National...haha. Not much competition to fight for a space on the National squad.
However I did say that I may not be specialised in sports but I can play all...more of a whole, all rounder...

Been super duper busy la...there was UM interview which i had to prepare for...need to arrange certs and try to learn some local sports trivia...find clothes<--i only got shorts and t-shirts ma...haha. Which is finally over la...woohoo..will blog about it later...
Next reason was shifting house loh...need to pack the things i want and find the heart to get rid of all my treasured rubbish...One thing i learn is When you change house, be prepared to say BYE to most of your useless but sentimental stuffs...
Not only pack the things but load it in the van and carry it out of the van later and unpack all my stuffs...
this is all still in the process la...not done yet completely...tired and busy la. Now i got so many letters to reply back...been quite a while already.

It's pretty small...one fan in the whole house which is downstairs...there's 3 rooms upstairs, all with no fan...haha. One toilet upstairs and one downstairs...the toilets is as big as the rooms...now u can imagine how small the rooms are...haha. It's ok la...not too bad. My neighbour said our area is a flood prone area and in the past, there was a flood about half a metre high...LoL, that's half of my height...so downstairs thing's all gone la in that flood. My house is near Jln Klang Lama...near Sri Sentosa school, near FGA, near Talipon restaurant(steamboat)...near Tmn Desa la.
ok ok, continue on...after 5pm, i followed my mom to the new house...we unpacked the kitchen stuffs and the toilets things...so tired. Boil water and made maggie mee, then go to sleep.
today afternoon while i was at work, the lorry came and took the cupboards, bed/matresses and other big things to the new house...
so in conclusion, um interview over d...now still got house shifting la..buzy buzy buzy....packing, unloading, sorting stuffs...moving. Owh, so tired..
On the 30th April, the Bangsar house must be kosong/empty...still got many things...must learn how to throw things....
So, even on the 1st of MAY...still not done yet la..must sort out things and unpack and arrange things in the new house la...settling down will take some time...please don't rush us...my mom cannot get kan cheong or not she will get heart pain.
